Since autumn 2011, human waste has consisted of people who have to live in inhospitable places like Stuttgart and Berlin - the cities of the despised, where nobody really wants to hang dead over the neighboring fence for half an hour. Despite, or perhaps because of, the irrefutable juggernaut of their habitat, all eyes and the public's interest are on what is currently, let's say, the most independent punk band on the globe. The attractive sound structure consists of a noisy guitar sound with creaky, wave-facing bass lines and a purposeful, minimalist clattering drum beat. The music of the group Human Abfall expresses itself in a technically heavy rhythm and is more of a dystopian mood painting than just haunting melody. In the texts, feelings, everyday objects and conditions are reflected and reduced to an insistent minimum. No concern - because human waste has long since passed this stage. The singer with a stray dark expression packs the bulky post-punk (not unlike gray area or camping sex) in early 80s German punk (à la lunch break and SYPH) with used up ambiguous lyrics and always manages to get the listener's own despite angry, manically repeated Dada slogans To elicit references to personal realities. Individual repulsive, Kafkaesque narrative interwoven with the existentialist turmoil of modern life in the battle zone of digital capitalism is reduced again and again to the essentials. From piece to piece of the record, the claustrophobic impression arises that a Kurt Schwitters has attached his scissors to the literary works of Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Albert Camus and Gabriel Marcels in order to collage the recurring text modules with hammer and nail To pin the zeitgeist. A very unique narrative style emerges, neither literary nor musical - more like arm wrestling against the wall. You can feel the city, the concrete, the dirt. You can feel that part of society that nobody likes to talk about. Perhaps one could say in a nutshell: What Dürrenmatt is to literature, human waste is to music. In keeping with the music, the artwork consists of bound linen, refined with letterpress printing. Everything is 100% handmade
